epprobate Process

  1. Contact the National Partner in your country.
  2. An initial short review will be carried out to ensure that the courseware is appropriate for the epprobate quality process, and will provide initial feedback on your courseware. There is a small fee for this initial .short review which will be deducted from the cost of the full review if the courseware goes on to the full review stage.
  3. The epprobate National Partner will give you a recommendation as to the length of the review required for your courseware (that is a function of the reviewer time required) and will send you an offer.
  4. After paying the fee to the epprobate secretariat, reviewers are selected who are able to evaluate the courseware from the points of view of eLearning pedagogy, content accuracy, technical delivery, and acceptability by the target group (you will be asked to help identify representatives of the target group).
  5. You will be asked to complete a Self Assessment Document answering a range of questions about the courseware, and to give access to the courseware to the review team. The Self Assessment Document will form the starting point for the deliberations of the review team.
  6. After the reviewers have evaluated the courseware and reached an initial set of conclusions, the head reviewer will contact you and send you a report to brief you for an on-line meeting with the review team.
  7. During this meeting you will receive feedback from the reviewers about the courseware in terms of the quality criteria of the epprobate Quality Grid, and you will have an opportunity to provide additional information about the courseware in order to address any concerns. You will have the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of the reviewers in thinking through possibly changes to the courseware.
  8. After this meeting the review team will revise their report in light of the meeting and will send it together with their recommendation as to whether the label should be awarded or not to the international awarding committee.
  9. The international awarding committee is responsible for the final decision about the awarding of the epprobate label and it will consider the recommendations of the review team within the wider context of its knowledge of global e-learning standards.
  10. You will receive formal written feedback from the international awarding committee, sent to you via the National Partner, and if the courseware has been successful in its application then the courseware will be officially labelled by epprobate.
  11. Each year an epprobate award for excellence will be awarded to the courseware judged to be most outstanding amongst those awarded the epprobate label during that year.
